Schools & Organisations
An institution does not want a dozen separate subscriptions and a dozen separate invoices. Seats are the institutional shape of UniMatrix: one plan, one pool of credits, one bill, and as many members as you have seats.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”- One shared credit pool. Every member spends from it. A light month for one person is capacity for another, which is exactly what a set of individual plans cannot do — an unused personal allowance simply expires.
- The full plan on every seat. A seat is not a stripped-down account. Whatever plan the organisation is on, every member gets that plan’s engines, that plan’s answer depth, and every one of its features. A member who was on Free before joining runs at the organisation’s level from the moment they accept.
- One invoice. Seats are billed to the organisation, not to the people using them.
Pricing
Section titled “Pricing”Seats start at 5 and are priced per seat per month. The pricing page quotes your exact seat count live — enter the number you need and it shows the monthly total and the per-seat figure before you pay.
Pooling, not discounting, is what makes a seat cheaper than an individual plan: each seat’s own allowance is smaller, but the shared pool means none of it is wasted.
Above 200 seats the purchase stops being self-serve — at that size you want an invoice, a purchase order and a conversation, so get in touch instead.
Buying seats and inviting people
Section titled “Buying seats and inviting people”-
Open pricing. On the landing page or in the app, find Schools & organisations directly under the plan cards and choose Get seats.
-
Enter your seat count. The quote updates as you type.
-
Pay. Your seats go live immediately — there is no waiting on a sales cycle.
-
Invite by email. Go to Settings → Organisation and invite people by email address. Each person gets a link.
-
They accept. The invitation is addressed to one email address and can only be redeemed by an account signed in with that address, once. Accepting is the moment a seat is consumed.
Managing the roster
Section titled “Managing the roster”Settings → Organisation shows the plan, the pool balance, how many seats are used, who holds them and which invitations are still outstanding.
- Any member can see who else is on the plan — knowing who shares the pool is the point.
- Owners and admins can invite, revoke and change roles.
- You can over-invite: an outstanding invitation does not hold a seat. The seat limit is enforced at the moment someone accepts, so the last seat can never be handed to two people.
Revoking a member frees their seat and drops their entitlement back to whatever they hold personally. Their own conversations and history are theirs and are not touched.
Leaving. Any member can leave the organisation themselves, from the same tab — you are not held on a plan by someone else’s roster. Leaving frees the seat immediately and returns you to whatever plan you hold personally, with your own conversations and history untouched. The one exception is the owner, who cannot leave: that is the billing relationship, and it has to be transferred or the organisation closed rather than walked away from.
How the pool is funded
Section titled “How the pool is funded”- The pool is a monthly allowance, and it refills — it does not accumulate. At each cycle the balance is set back to the organisation’s allowance. An unspent month is not carried into the next one, in the same way an individual plan’s unused credits don’t roll over.
- Buying more seats adds. A top-up increases both the seat count and the pool, and extends the plan period. You are not replacing the plan you already have.
- The size of the pool follows the seat count, so an organisation that grows mid-year gets capacity that matches its new roster.
Rules worth knowing
Section titled “Rules worth knowing”- One pool per person. An account can hold a seat in one organisation at a time. If you’re invited to a second, leave the first one first.
- A lapsed plan grants nothing. If the organisation’s plan expires, the pool stops paying and the seats stop conferring the plan — members fall back to their own accounts rather than quietly keeping premium access.
- A seat never downgrades anyone. A Premium subscriber who joins a Standard organisation keeps Premium.
