Billing & Plans
UniMatrix runs on a credit system. Each plan gives you a credit allowance, and every AI action — a tutoring reply, a UniCraft file build, a quiz, a live session — spends credits. Every plan, including Free, has full access to all five modes: Chat, UniLearn, UniSkills, UniCode and UniCraft. Every account starts free, and you only pay if you want more.
The four plans
Section titled “The four plans”Each plan is powered by an AI engine — SPARK, NOVA or ORACLE — which determines how the tutor reasons and explains. Premium and Sovereign both run ORACLE and both advertise the maximum answer depth; they differ in credit volume and in Sovereign’s shareable seats.

Prices and currencies
Section titled “Prices and currencies”USD is the price. The pricing page has a currency chooser: pick any of eleven currencies and every figure converts at the live rate. Paystack settles the charge in GHS (Ghana Cedis), so whenever you are viewing a non-GHS currency the cedi amount that will actually be charged stays visible underneath the headline figure.
What the engines mean
Section titled “What the engines mean”- SPARK is fast and efficient — great for everyday learning on the Free plan.
- NOVA is more comprehensive, with worked examples and the reasoning behind each answer.
- ORACLE is the most advanced — it goes deeper and more precisely, surfacing assumptions and organising complex topics into clear frameworks.
UniCode engine tiers
Section titled “UniCode engine tiers”UniCode has its own three-tier engine selector, in the composer bar next to the attach button — the same place and the same control every other mode uses for its engine:

Picking a tier your plan doesn’t include takes you to the upgrade page. UniCraft uses the same selector and the same tiers.
What every paid plan includes
Section titled “What every paid plan includes”- Credits that refresh monthly instead of daily, with no daily cap and no throttling.
- NOVA or ORACLE in place of the free SPARK engine.
- Deeper answers — the output budget steps up with the plan.
- Early access to Synapse Live — the AI video tutor. Synapse has not launched yet; paid plans get in first when it does. See Synapse.
Premium and Sovereign also get early access to new features.
Billing cycles: monthly or annual
Section titled “Billing cycles: monthly or annual”You can pay monthly or annually. Annual billing gives you 2 months free — you pay for 10 months instead of 12, a saving of about 17%.

A monthly subscription grants access for 30 days; an annual subscription grants access for 365 days.
Renewals, cards and auto-renew
Section titled “Renewals, cards and auto-renew”What renews, and when
Section titled “What renews, and when”Your plan renews at the cycle you bought. An annual subscription renews annually, for another 365 days — it is never quietly converted to monthly billing.
Three days before a plan ends, UniMatrix emails you. If a card is on file and auto-renew is on, that email tells you the card, the date and the amount you are about to be charged, and how to turn it off. If nothing is going to be charged, it tells you that instead — the reminder always describes what will actually happen.
Auto-renew
Section titled “Auto-renew”Settings → Billing has an auto-renew switch. It decides whether UniMatrix may charge your saved card when the plan expires.
- It only appears when you have a card on file. With no saved card there is nothing to charge, so there is nothing to switch.
- It is on by default for accounts with a card — that is the behaviour a subscription implies — and you can turn it off at any time, immediately.
- With auto-renew off, your plan simply ends on its expiry date and the account returns to Free. Nothing is charged.
Saved cards
Section titled “Saved cards”Paying through Paystack offers to keep the card on file so the next renewal — or a one-click upgrade — doesn’t need the full checkout again. UniMatrix never sees or stores your card number; what’s kept is a Paystack authorisation plus the last four digits, so you can recognise which card it is. Remove it any time in Settings → Billing.
When a plan expires
Section titled “When a plan expires”The account drops to Free: the SPARK engine, 50 credits a day, and the daily reset. Nothing is deleted — your conversations, files, UniTrack history, learning profile and guardian links are all still there, and resubscribing restores the plan without restoring anything by hand.
If a payment goes through but the plan doesn’t appear
Section titled “If a payment goes through but the plan doesn’t appear”Pay once. A charge that succeeds is always honoured: if the plan doesn’t land in the same moment the money moves, the account is reconciled automatically and the plan arrives shortly after. UniMatrix is built never to say “payment failed” for a payment that actually went through — if you see the charge on your statement, it is recorded, and a second attempt is not needed. If it hasn’t resolved within the hour, contact support with the reference rather than paying again.
Invoices and history
Section titled “Invoices and history”Settings → Billing lists your recent payments — plan, amount, currency, date and reference — so you can reconcile a charge on a statement or forward a receipt. Every successful payment also sends an emailed invoice.
Schools, teams and organisations
Section titled “Schools, teams and organisations”Buying several plans separately is not how an institution should do this. Seats share one credit pool, and every seat carries the full plan.
Upgrading and downgrading
Section titled “Upgrading and downgrading”You can upgrade at any time for a stronger engine and more credits, and downgrade when you need less. Manage this from Billing in Settings. Changes apply to your plan and credit allowance going forward.
Plans and credits are server-authoritative: they are granted by the payment webhook and spent by the server. Nothing in the browser can change them, which is also why a page reload never loses or duplicates a grant.
